Anna May Bashor and her brother, Ernest Michael Bashor, in 1899, ages 2 & 4. I think this picture helps explain why 3 of my 4 children have curly hair! ... Link

Frank Jacob Britain and his sister, Bertha. He was born in 1889, she in 1890. I don't have a date for the picture, but it can't be any later than 1892, and I'd guess 1891, just looking at the apparent ages of the children. ... Link
William and Mary Britain

These are the parents of Willard Benjamin Britain. Best evidence indicates that they are William Britain (the name was spelled variously) and Mary Baines or Barnes. Her name appears both ways in the available records; this is due more to the nature of handwritten documents than anything else. They were among the earliest settlers of Mills County, IA, where they arrived as part of a group of Mormons who had been compelled to leave Illinois after the murder of Joseph Smith in 1846. Census records indicate they were born in England, William in abt 1818, Mary in abt 1821. They later moved to Finney County, KS where they were among the earliest settlers in that area. William died in 1895 and Mary in 1906. ... Link ... Next page
